The casino is one room of this house, at the back of the second patio
Sierravia Casino occupies the east room of this casa, off the second patio, on the ground floor. It was the garage when the house was in flats and it is six tables and a bar now. It belongs to the hotel and is run by the hotel, and you reach it from inside the house.
From reception, straight through the first patio, across the second, and the door in the east corner is the one. Sixty paces, give or take, and there is somebody on that door every hour the room is open.

The room
Six tables, a bar, and a ceiling you can see the beams of
The casino floor is six tables and a short bar along the south wall. On a Thursday two or three are open; on a Saturday in December all six are and the door staff start turning people away after midnight, because the casino is small.
The roof beams are the original cedar from 1890 and were left exposed in the restoration. There is no music. The loudest thing in the room is the fans.
The dress code is long trousers and closed shoes. The old town is hot and the house is relaxed everywhere except at this door.
Age and document
18, checked every single visit
Colombia sets the casino age at 18. A cédula, a cédula de extranjería or a passport is checked at the door on every visit, even if you were eating dinner in the patio an hour earlier.
A photograph of a document on a telephone does not count, and neither does a driving licence that carries no date of birth.
Nobody under 18 enters the casino at any hour, including the hours when the room is shut and being swept.
Limits and stopping
Agreed with a person, written down
Limits are set on the casino floor by the staff working it. Say your figure before you sit and it is written down and held to for the evening. If you'd rather they suggested one, just ask; they usually pitch it about right.
Stopping is arranged in person at reception, never from this page or by telephone. Self-exclusion is signed at the desk and takes effect that evening; it is lifted only by coming back to the same desk in person.
The casino floor gives no credit, and there is no cash machine in the room, in the patio or anywhere else inside the street door.
This website offers no gaming
Nothing to play, bet on or pay for on this website
What you are reading describes a room in a hotel in Santa Marta. The room is a land-based casino floor, and nothing is played on this website. The casino takes no bets here, opens no accounts and moves no money.
To play, you come to Calle 17, show a document at the east door and sit down. That is the only way in, and none of it can be done on this page.
