Eating here

Two patios and a roof, and one kitchen behind all of them

The same four people cook breakfast, dinner and whatever goes up the stair to the azotea.

El Comedor

Breakfast 7:00-10:00 · dinner 19:00-22:00, Tuesday to Sunday

The long table under the north arcade of the second patio, in shade from eleven in the morning. Breakfast is fruit, arepas, eggs and a pot of coffee that comes from two hours up the Sierra.

Dinner is cooked by two sisters from Taganga. The fish is whatever came in that morning, and when it has gone it has gone.

Bar del Patio

17:00-00:00, daily

The first patio turns into the bar at five, which mostly means somebody carries the ice out and lights the lamps.

Rum, beer, limeade, and one cocktail that changes when the barman gets bored.

La Azotea

18:00-23:00, Thursday to Sunday

Eight tables on the roof, the Sierra on one side and the bay on the other. Small plates only, because the kitchen is two floors down and the stair is narrow.

It closes when it rains, which between May and November is often and without warning.

El Comedor

The long table under the arcade

Sixteen places on two tables pushed together, laid at seven and cleared at ten. In the evening the same arcade takes eight covers and the lamps come down low.

If you need to eat earlier than seven because of a bus, say so the night before and something will be left out for you.

The card

Short, and it runs out

There is no printed menu. The kitchen writes the day's dishes on the board by its door once the fish arrives, usually three, and nothing is reprinted when one sells out.

Tell us at breakfast if there is something you cannot eat and it is handled by seven, without a conversation about it at the table.
